How do I book a tour?

Pick a departure and pay a 20% deposit through Bokun's secure checkout, or send us your dates and we'll build a private itinerary first. The balance is due 30 days before departure.

Can I change or cancel my booking?

Date changes are free until 30 days before departure. Cancellation terms are shown at checkout — and we're flexible when flights or visas go sideways.

Is this a group tour or private?

Accepted Answer

This is a small-group tour with a flexible group size. You’ll travel with a guide and driver on the dates you choose and you might be joined by other travelers. If you would like a guaranteed private tour, please contact us directly. We can arrange a private trip with a custom itinerary to suit your preferences and dates. There is no minimum number of travelers required to book. Solo travelers are welcome.

Do you offer Japanese-speaking guides?

Yes — Japanese-speaking guiding and trip support are available on request. Tell us when you inquire so we can confirm availability for your dates.

What vehicles do you use?

Depending on group size and comfort level: Purgon, Starex, Hiace or Alphard — all driven by our own experienced drivers.

What is the food like?

All meals are included: ger camp meals, home cooking with host families, and local restaurants. Vegetarian and other diets can be arranged, tell us when booking.

What are showers and toilets like?

Tourist ger camps have hot showers and western toilets. On family-stay nights it's simpler, a wash basin and an outdoor toilets. We plan the route so a real shower is never far away.

Can children join?

Absolutely — families are some of our favourite groups. We adjust riding times, driving blocks and menus for kids; travellers from 4 years up have loved these trips.

Do I need a visa?

Many nationalities enter visa-free for 30–90 days (US, Japan, Korea, much of Europe). Check with your nearest Mongolian embassy and we'll send any booking letters you need.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes — insurance is required, and medical-evacuation cover is strongly recommended for remote areas.

What should I pack?

Layers: warm fleece and windproof shell even in summer, sun hat, sturdy shoes, headlamp, power bank, sunscreen. Full packing list in our Travel Tips.

Do I need riding experience for horse tours?

Accepted Answer

Not for short horse ride as guides will stay with you and guide you. For longer treks, confident-beginner level or above is best.
